Our journey in education started in 1996, when we started Bulls Eye, which went on to become the leader in MBA test prep in North India soon. The first Peepal Tree school was started in 2011 in Jammu and our school family has grown to 3 schools today, with Pune being started in 2016 and Kota in 2022. Work has started on our Satara school, which we hope will be operational in 2024.
We run small schools. And believe that we will grow the number of schools in future rather than the number of students in a school. This means local hiring. Local students. No one travels. Being small means that we have individual plans for students – instead of a one size fits all approach. We believe that it is not just students but also teachers who continue to learn at Peepal Tree. We invest regularly in our teachers’ continuing education.
We are a Doing School. One of our mentors is Padmashree awardee, Arvind Gupta. With his help we try to break the barriers between subjects, through a tinkering approach. Where students have to work with their own hands. A school that builds theory from practice. A school that uses a project and activity based approach to learning. A school that helps individuals identify their strengths and customises the program so that students are able to build on these strengths. And make careers out of them. It could be dance. It could be teaching. It could be the Army. Whatever. It is the job of a teacher-mentor to ensure the right inputs to her mentees. If she can’t do it herself, let her find someone who can. And gets students on to the path.
Located in the Mutti area of Jammu, our 10,000 sq ft Jammu campus offers a nurturing environment for our young students. The Jammu campus has a 1000 book library and sports facilities to promote a well-rounded education. The school has a very active extra curricular program. We have our own pottery wheel. Students are trained in Taekwondo, dance and music by visiting teachers.
Situated in a vibrant neighborhood of Swami Vivekanand Nagar, our Kota Campus offers a great learning atmosphere that encourages collaboration. Our Kota campus features vibrant classrooms, well-equipped learning spaces, and interactive teaching methods that encourage student engagement and active participation. We have a 500 book library that caters to the young minds. And our toddler’s play area is a big hit.
Located in Pimple Nilakh, Pune, the school is located in an independent house, about 500 metres away from the main Pimple Nilakh bus stop. The ground floor is kept open as a play and assembly area, while the classrooms are located on the first and second floors. The school has over 1000 books in its library. Rooftop solar panels will soon reduce the dependence of the school on the grid. Apart from regular faculty, the school regularly gets students to interact with guests from the industry and academia.
